CÁRDENAS STATEMENT ON MEMORIAL DAY

(San Fernando Valley, Calif.) -- U.S. Rep. Tony Cárdenas (D-San Fernando Valley) today released a statement on the observation of Memorial Day throughout the United States:

“Today, we stop our everyday lives to reflect on the extraordinary men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms," said Cárdenas. “As legislators, one of our most solemn responsibilities is keeping them in mind while we maintain the promise America has made to our Veterans. Today, as we remember, we must look forward. I am committed to supporting legislation in the House of Representatives that will end the backlog of paperwork that stops our wounded Veterans from receiving the care they deserve; the care that forms the backbone of that promise our nation has made. This Memorial Day, I invite all Californians to join me, in not only looking to the brave defenders of our past, but to protecting the legacy our future will leave.”
